Our
featured volunteer: David Simpson
David Simpson, born and raised in
North Little Rock, epitomizes the true meaning of volunteer! David has served on the Board
of Directors of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Central Arkansas for almost 2
years. He has served in the capacity of Vice-President for 1 full year. He also is on the
finance committee, program committee and serves as Treasurer. David graduated in 1976 from
the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
He has worked at Twin Cities Printing since graduation, and currently serves as an Account Manager.
David and his lovely wife of 24 years, June, are also very involved with the Foster Parenting
Program. They have been active foster parents for 15 years, the last 11 being spent primarily
with children who have special needs.
David also serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan YMCA in Little
Rock. The Simpson's enjoy their volunteer work because it is "for the betterment of
the community" and because of their "willingness to help the children of Central
Arkansas". Even with all the activities David has going on, he still finds time to serve as a Deacon
for his church, First Baptist of Gravel Ridge where he also teaches Sunday school.
Because of people like David Simpson, Central Arkansas is a better place
to live. RSVP salutes Mr. David Simpson! |
